- 01
A Warm Welcome
We begin by welcoming everyone, introducing the session and helping you feel comfortable with the activities ahead. There's no expectation to arrive knowing anything about martial arts.
- 02
Building Your Foundations
Learn fundamental movements, defensive positions, awareness and simple techniques that form the foundation of practical self-defence.
- 03
Learning Through Practice
Explore techniques through guided exercises, partner activities and pad work, developing confidence and familiarity at a pace that feels right for you.
- 04
Leaving with Confidence
We finish by reflecting on what we've learned, answering questions and recognising the progress made during the session.
This is an illustrative structure. Sessions may vary depending on the group's needs and the format booked.

Supportive Coaching, Every Step of the Way.
Hi, I'm Archie, founder of Bamboo Studios and a third-degree black belt in Kung Fu.
I believe martial arts should be accessible, encouraging and enjoyable for everyone.
My approach to teaching focuses on creating a respectful, supportive environment where people can learn without pressure, ask questions freely and develop at a pace that suits them.
Whether you're trying martial arts for the first time or building on existing experience, my goal is to make every session a positive and rewarding experience.
"Women Only" describes who the sessions are for. Sessions are currently led by Archie.
